Are the results of memcache global or only applicable for the logged in user?

I am using memcache to store some data both from an external API and from the SDK APIs. These API calls are specific to the logged in user, and other users should not be able to access this cache data. For values that are stored in memcache, are these values global so that all users can access the cache dictionary or does every signed in user receive their own instance of memcache when the extension is running?

Link to caching documentation: https://docs.q2developer.com/tutorials/online_banking/caching.html?highlight=cache

Thank you,
Ethan

Hi Ethan,

There is a single instance of memcache per data center we run. self.cache.set will have it's cache key scopped to your SDK service. If you set an entry with a key of name and value of Ethan for one online user, another online user will also see that same value.

If you want this to be scopped to a single session then opt to use self.session_cache.set instead. This will construct a key that's unique that just that session without any overlap between two users.
