How to check if Subsidiary exists before creating a new one?

I'm currently working on automating part of our workflow where we create new subsidiaries for clients using the Caliper API. Right now, our process is manual—we check if a subsidiary already exists before creating a new one. This is time-consuming and prone to error.

What I’d like to do is use the Caliper API to retrieve a list of existing subsidiaries that match a given tax ID, so I can programmatically determine whether a subsidiary already exists before proceeding with creation.

Has anyone done something similar or know if the Caliper API supports this kind of query? Specifically:

Is there an endpoint that allows searching subsidiaries by tax ID?
What does the request/response structure look like?
Are there any filters or parameters I should be aware of?

Hi Joseph,
Currently, the Caliper API supports creating subsidiaries only in the context of user creation through the AddUser and Enrollment endpoints. There isn't an existing endpoint for retrieving subsidiaries via the API. That said, it would be fairly simple to add to the Caliper API, since we have an existing internal endpoint that could be used to fetch a list of subsidiaries, though right now it retrieves them by customer ID, not tax ID. Expanding this to support tax ID lookups would likely require additional work from our HQ team. If this is something you would be interested in using through the API, I’d recommend creating a feature request via the q2 developer portal so that we can start working on this request and you would be able to track progress.

Best,
Solène
