Apparently and perhaps when scopes were changed Environment in the Application setting was reset (Environments(optional)). Apparently not really optional. As everything else perhaps a bit confusing.

That is correct and has been called out in our documentation. https://docs.q2api.com/docs/q2-caliper-api/0gozwdc5ipopq-how-to-call-v2 It is listed as optional as some calls to caliper api do not require an environment scope like the caliper api health check.
