SSO Extension Modal & Request Parameter

To create a sso extension I am running the q2 create_extension command and selecting the option:
SSO (Third Party Integration)

  1. Does this extension support showing a modal?
    https://docs.q2developer.com/guides/frontend_development/modals.html?highlight=modal

  2. For this extension type, if my extension expects a parameter to be sent from another extension or feature (e.g. account share id), will something like this work in the extension.py:

async def default(self, requestParam):
# code

The SSO extension type creates a SSO linkout that works with Q2 platform features. It is more limited than a standard Tecton extension but it can support the following types of popups:

  • Overpanel (Iframe floating over the page)
  • New tab

Based on your question, it sounds like you will want to implement a Tecton extension and peform openUrl functions (see here) and implement other features such as modals and supporting incoming parameters in the self.form_fields object.
