How to retrieve the current version of the mobile app

Is there a way within the sdk or tecton to retrieve the current mobile app version?
We want to include this with some user data that we collect in our extension.

Thanks.

Good afternoon Edmund,

Currently there is not a way to retrieve the mobile app version. What we can do is mention the window.Tecton object, which identifies the following:

  • PLATFORM_VERSION - The version of the platform
  • TECTON_PLATFORM_VERSION - The version of q2-tecton-platform running on the platform
  • TECTON_SDK_VERSION - The version of the q2-tecton-sdk running in your module
  • device - A string indicating the device type (e.g., "phone", "tablet", "desktop")
  • inMobileApp - A boolean that lets you know whether you are in the native mobile app

Good day Kristopher,

Thanks for your response.

My predicament is that part of the requirements for the extension is to trigger certain events when the mobile app is updated.
Being that we cannot read the app version, would I luck out enough for there to be any correlation between any of those versions listed above and the mobile app releases? I do not necessarily need the app version specifically; I just need to know whether the app was updated from the last time that the extension event was triggered.

Thanks again.
