Our widgets load fine when using the default Q2 theme but I'm seeing errors when switching to the UuxThriveRetail and the widgets are not loading.

David,

this widget may be not enabled for this theme(UuxThriveRetail). like groups widgets can be turn off for themes too.
this can be enabled by Q2 team .you can create a support ticket on Q2 to enable for this theme
