Embed external website without SSO

What would be the recommended way to display an external website inside Q2's main content area without requiring SSO or any authentication?

Essentially, we're looking to implement the Enhanced SSO flow as described here but without the SSO.

The url of the external website will vary based on some conditions. We will be able to load the Tecton library inside that external website.

Are we able to redirect to the external website directly from the Q2 extension?

Yes, the Enhanced SSO is basically a redirect of the IFrame, and authentication is not specifically needed. Loading Tecton inside the external website is also helpful but not necessary.

Here's a code snippet for the redirect:

window.addEventListener('load', function() {
    window.location = {{ url }};
})

Got it. So should I use one of the Tecton extension types when creating a new extension?

How would I perform that redirect?

I added a code snippet to the answer here.

Thanks! That's one of the methods I was experimenting with but I was experiencing some issues. Could be because I was redirecting immediately instead of on the "load" event.

Is there a way to redirect directly from the extension's route in Python?

Not really David, if you want your site embedded in online banking, you'll have to return a HTML page using a Tecton handler.

Ok thanks! I got it set up using what you've suggested. It's like 80% there but there are some weird issues when I try to display those pages as widgets. I opened up a new question here about that https://community.q2developer.com/question/1445039525897179136/setfetching-false-not-working-when-displaying-extension-as-a-widget
