Merge Request (to Master): Assignee and Reviewer

Dear Q2 eam:

I have created a merge request for our first extension. It is a basic html page with two links.
In GitLab, I see I am not allowed to merge to master (the same is true for my colleagues).

I assigned the PR to Justin Brewer, as he recently helped me with a support ticket.

I also understand that once the PR is merged, the extension will be deployed to a staging environment and that you will provide us with the URL and any necessary credentials.

Please let me know if I am following the process correctly.

Thank you!

Hello Vito,

Sorry for the delay on this response. In general, all deployment questions are answered in the documentation here:

https://docs.q2developer.com/guides/processes/review_and_deploy.html

To answer your specific questions though. You should be allowed to merge to master. However, the branch may not be configured properly yet because you have yet to do a staging deploy. The first deploy and any configuration changes must be done via deployment ticket as outlined in the guide. Instead of assigning PRs to individual Q2 employees, I recommend making deployment tickets on q2developer.com here:

https://www.q2developer.com/support/create?ticketType=Deployment

This is not only the proper process, but it helps your ticket not get lost in the many tickets and deployments we get every day. In terms of what environment your extension will go into. All Financial Institutions have a designated Staging environment their extensions will get loaded into. All Marketplace or Accelerator Partners have a different process and when your deploy is finished, you will be given that information.

Hopefully this answers all your questions. Feel free to reach out to me with follow up questions.

Thank you!
